Ivano-Frankivsk: Halytska street is being repaired
As promised, overhaul repairs have begun of Halytska street. The works are underway between Kalush detour and Khimiky street.
Night by night, road workers were milling the old road surface, in order to execute the cold recycling regeneration of the route.
"We have loosened and strengthened two thousand square meters of the old road overnight. Due to heavy rain showers, the process had to be interrupted. We also have a clear restriction caused by the municipal transport schedule: we've got five hours daily for intensive works. By 5am the mill has to be stopped and moved aside as first trolleybuses do appear on the route that early", - Ihor Bondariev, executive director of "PBS".
We're doing preparatory work during daytime. Currently, "PBS" experts are making further plans, studying target areas. After the repairs, the road surface level will rise by tens of centimeters. A problem with the trolley line is evident here.
"Contact cables of the trolley line in this area hang too low. Trucks and other big vehicles may damage them. At the moment, negotiations are underway with city authorities to raise the line upwards", - Mykola Serhiichuk, Chief Engineer of "PBS".
In order to hasten the repairs, "PBS" will deploy an extra brigade. Halytska street is to be repaired quickly and qualitatively. Bad weather conditions, however, may surely delay our plans.
