We are ready to continue repairing the Р-62 road
For the third day in a row, the inhabitants of Kosiv, Putyla and Vyzhnytsia districts are blocking the road P-62, Kryvorivnia - Chernivtsi. The protest action takes place near the village of Velykyi Rozhyn, Kosiv district. This is the road that connects the regions of Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi. It has not been repaired for decades, thus residents are now demanding a solution of this issue.
The PBS road company is the winner of the tender for the repairs of the road. Last year, the company repaired the road partially, in the village of Tiudiv, on the border between Ciscarpathia and Bukovyna. Back then there the available funds were insufficient.
"The contract stipulates that funds should be allocated in time, in order for repairs to progress. Last year, funds were partially transferred and some work was carried out in accordance to the amount received. This year, we haven't yet receive a single penny. We are just unable to resume the process", - Oleksii Pasternak, director of PBS.
As soon as money is received, the repairs will immediately continue.
