PBS is running waterproofing of deformation stitches on the bridge in Lutsk
The overhaul repairs of the bridge over the river Styr (Kovelska street, Lutsk) is underway. PBS specialists do their best to provide a durable construction to last for dozens of years. Now they are waterproofing deformation stitches.
"Waterproofing is a very responsible and obligatory process in the course of bridge's construction and repairs. If carried out correctly, water doesn't affect the deformation stitches and concrete is less vurnerable. The construction itself is getting more reliable", - Yurii Pobihushka, road master of PBS.
Recently the company's employees completely replaced the reinforcement of stitches and installed the upper layer of concrete. The bridge on Kovelska street hasn't been repaired for two decades. The construction was exhausted and needed major repairs.
"The bridge was in a poor condition. As a result of deformation stitches areas being exhausted, the asphalt concrete coating was getting destroyed over time, there were always pits. Thus we cut the concrete down as deep as to the main girders and replaced the deformation seams. We are now waterproofing those areas and only then we will apply asphalt concrete", - PBS employees.
Typically, municipal services do not pay particular attention to stitches and only carry out lesser repairs. As a result, cracks and potholes appear again. We at PBS are strongly convinced: all bridge repairs should be done qualitatively and reliably.
