PBS is repairing one of major street in Chernivtsi
On November 12, the PBS road company started overhaul repairs of the Heroiv Maidanu street. The works are underway starting from Shcherbaniuk street to Nezalezhnosti avenue.
Taking intensive traffic into account on Heroiv Maidanu street, works are carried out nightly. The street is not being blocked during daytime hours. For this purpose, a reversal traffic lane has been organized.
"We have a few hours daily to do our job - from 18:00 to midnight. Since this is one of the central streets of Chernivtsi, we aren't able to stop the traffic or temporarily block it at peak hours. Therefore, we decided to work nightly. Given the fact the street being a residential area, we also aren't allowed to work for the entire night, as the machinery noise will disturb people's sleep", - said Oleksandr Lastivka, head of Chernivtsi PBS office.
In one single night, the PBS company has managed to mill out the deformed asphalt layers, making the road profile more leveled. Since this is one of the main streets of the city, traffic lanes will be expanded. The length of the plot to be fully repaired is 700 meters.
