Road signs are not for ads!
There's a sad tendency of people sticking their ads to road signs. This is the most recent trend in Ivano-Frankivsk region. All along the roads which stay under the maintance of "PBS", one may often see promotional stickers, which are stuck directly to the front of the signs.
"The situation is quite disturbing. For example, one of "Pedestrian crossing" signs is completely sealed with ads. Same with another sign, "Overtaking is prohibited". This creates risks both for drivers and pedestrians. Сloser to settlements, the issue is more evident", - Petro Dubitskyi, "PBS" operation and maintenance department chairman.
Advertising is various in content. You may see hand-written ads as well, not just posters. "PBS" kindly asks citizens to be reasonable and realize they create emergency situation risks. Road signs are not for ads, they're sometimes make a difference between life and death. Ads should be placed in the specially designated locations. Besides, the damage of property is legally liable!
