Roads repaired by "PBS" won't require any repairs for 10 years

"PBS" reports fifty thousand kilometers of roads being successfully reconstructed in the region. The majority of projects was executed by the Bukovelian road-building company. For the first time in Ukraine, on their own initiative, "PBS" provide a 10-year warranty for their repairs. According to the Ivano-Frankivsk region Road Service Chairman Vasyl Budzhak, these roads will remain in excellent condition and won't require any repairs in the next decade. These statements were voiced at a meeting led by the newly-appointed Head of the Regional State Administration Denys Shmyhal.

Mr. Budzhak stressed out the speeding problem which arose shortly after the improvement of the state of roads: “There's a clear increase in road accident cases on the repaired sections of roads. 90% of those crashes occur due to speeding. We've taken all measures to improve safety: 631 road signs have been installed, 365 kilometers of road marking applied, new barrier fencings installed. However, the situation requires further intrusion. My suggestion is that we develop a new safety-improving mechanism, together with the Regional State Administration. Moreover, we still need to counter the illegal bigboard installation on roundabouts and other places that decrease the view range of drivers".

Another major problem of the region is the overwhelming littering of roadside recreation sites. "PBS" employees are constantly cleaning roadside debris up, however, it seems that some recreational areas are becoming a place of concentration of wastes originating from the surrounding villages.

“Usualy drivers don't carry large trashbags with them. Clearly, residents of the nearby villages are to blame for all those mess”, - "PBS" road-builders.
