"PBS" introduces another innovation: the bridge across the Rybnytsia river will be the first in the region to receive polyurethane coating for pedestrian lanes.
"The advantage of this material is that it is more suitable for pedestrian traffic, resistant to temperature fluctuations, UV rays, salt and other corrosive substances", says "PBS" roadmaster Yurii Pobihushka.
The material is from the well-known Ukrainian company "ITUM", being manufactured at one of their European-based plants. Specialists in leading European countries have already adopted this technology. Polyurethane coating is often used in the construction of outdoor car parkings, stadiums, pedestrian walkways, helicopter pads and more.
“The material has made itself quite a reputation in Europe. We safely assume the coating to serve for 5-10 years. We control the entire process and explain the technology to the construction teams”, - says Shimon Daniel, "ITUM" Deputy Director for Technology.
Another novelty being used for the first time is RAPIDFLEX-HP two-component bitumen-latex waterproofing. The materials were purchased from the same company.
