"PBS" shows an example of how roads should be repaired

The "PBS" road repair company shows an example to the entire country of how roads should be rebuilt, states Oleksandr Shevchenko, the People's Deputy of Ukraine, who made a huge contribution to the development of road industry in Precarpathian region.
"There must be a strategy. I'm confident that we must start with the reconstruction of main roads, then gradually move to local ones. Repair the main road, which passes through several villages, so that every resident may use a well-functional road. There's no such logic in other regions of the country. Authorities simply throw some money here and there, as a result we have no completed roads".
In Ukraine, 120 thousand kilometers of roads of local importance and 50 thousand kilometers of state significance. To rebuild them all, we need one and a half trillion UAH, an unreal amount for the Ukrainian budget.
"2-3 thousand kilometers of roads are repaired in Ukraine, yearly. If we continue at the same pace, it'll take forever. If we want to rebuild 170 thousand kilometers of Ukrainian roads in at least ten years, then the rate of repairs should be increased 15-20 times. In this case, the minimum warranty period for works performed should be as long lasting, as "PBS" company provides - 10 years. Without external economic injections, repairing such a number of roads in a short time is simply not possible. But the world community isn't that eager for huge investments into it, as the Ukrainian government is rightfully considered to be corrupted and unfair. Therefore, it is necessary first of all to radically swap the current state authorities and elect new, purposeful people, those who do not work for their own benefit, but for the prosperity of the people and the country", - states Oleksandr Shevchenko.
