"PBS" are working on reducing sleet issues

On the night of November 25, sleet was reported on the roads of Carpathian and Lviv regions. Due to rain and sudden temperature drop, crust of ice quickly covered the roads. "PBS" employees reacted immediately and deployed men to the roads to quickly eliminate the problem.

"The forecast did not foresee that dramatic deterioration of the situation on the roads. That is why we had to mobilize people nightly and get the machinery to work asap. The most problematic highways were Ivano-Frankivsk - Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk - Kolomyia", - Mykhailo Lytvyniuk, Deputy Director of "PBS".

In the direction towards Transcarpathia through the town of Yaremche, the road was completely dry. From Bohorodchany to Nadvirna there also were no problems.

"Separate areas appeare to be sleet-covered on the road Ivano-Frankivsk - Nadvirna. The issue was immediately localized. "PBS" machinery additionally applied hydrated salt, to all the roads that remain in the maintenance of the firm, in order to prevent slipperiness", - "PBS" spokesmen.

There are currently no sleet issues on the roads. However, "PBS" are preparing for another test, as weather conditions are soon expected to disimprove.Heavy snowfalls are expected, together with sleet and snow-sticking.

We have all technical means ready. We kindly ask drivers who haven't installed winter tires yet, please do it immediately. We also ask pedestrians to wear appropriate winter shoes, as trauma risks are extremely high.
