Сonsequences of storm eliminated from national significance roads

On February 23-24, due to active cyclone shifts, weather conditions worsened in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Heavy wet snow caused major traffic issues in the Carpathian highland area. Due to wind gusts of up to 40 m/sec, a number of trees collapsed on the roadsides of national significance motorways.

Maintenance brigades were quickly dispatched, as soon as traffic issue reports came in. Without delay, employees of the contractor company began to remove the trees. As of 8am on February 24th, national significance roads are safe for vehicle traffic. The consequences of the storm have been eliminated.

Forecasts indicate the risk of precipitation in the form of rain and sleet in highland areas. Weather conditions correspond to 2nd level of threat (orange).

We kindly ask drivers to be careful and obey the traffic rules.
